Strains Homeopathy Remedy
Definition:
Muscles, tendons, soft tissues and ligaments may be stretched, torn and bruised. Sprain is defined as a joint injury in which some of the fibres of a supporting ligament are ruptured but the continuity of the ligament remains intact. However, strain is to over-exercise or over-use a muscle, ligament or tendon to an extreme and harmful degree.
Causes:
Slipping, falling, acute trauma or over-exercise.
Symptoms:
Pain, incapacity, tenderness, swelling and bruising.
Treatment:
Arnica montana (lotion); Bellis perennis; Bryonia alba; Calcarea carbonica; Ledum palustre; Rhus toxicodendron; Ruta graveolens.
Arnica montana (lotion): For shock; to allay swelling and lessen the pain. Used both internally and also externally as a lotion.
Bellis perennis: A most efficient and rapid acting remedy. Relieves the swelling and the pain of sprained ligaments (it is particularly indicated, when the injury is on the left side of the body).
Bryonia alba: Injury involving a joint which is painful and swollen. Relief with pressure (crepe bandage).
Calcarea carbonica: For the weak, flabby, fat child, chilly with weak ankles. Twisting and sprains are common in the ankles.
Ledum palustre: Useful in severe bruising and hematoma. Used internally or locally as a lotion.
Rhus toxicodendron: When due to a fail or injury. Pain, stiffness and swelling. May be given after Arnica montana. May also be applied locally as a lotion.
Ruta graveolens: Often helpful in injury to ligaments.
