Rheumatoid Arthritis Homeopathy Remedy
Definition:
Inflammation of the soft tissues such as muscles, tendon-sheaths, bursae and joints, with acutely painful localized areas, sometimes with swelling. Still's disease is a variety of chronic polyarthritis affecting children with marked enlargement of lymph nodes and spleen, and irregular fever. Also called juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
Causes:
Probably an autoimmune disorder. Cold, damp weather and a chills draft. Anxiety and stress aggravate.
Symptoms:
Pain, often shifting. Localized swellings. Worse in motion usually. Trigger points. Morning stiffness.
Treatment:
Bryonia alba; Calcarea carbonica; Causticum; Pulsatilla nigricans; Rhododendron; Rhus toxicodendron, Ruta graveolens.
Bryonia alba: The modalities contrast to those of Rhus toxicodendron. In Bryonia the rheumatism is aggravated by motion and is worse with heat, although it is better with pressure.
Calcarea carbonica: Great thirst for large quantities of water or other liquids. Useful for the sharp rheumatic pains in the wrists, hands and feet (small joints).
Causticum: Useful, particularly when the jaw and neck areas are involved. Usually patients are better with warmth, but not affected by movement. Usually better during rains.
Pulsatilla nigricans: Useful in the Pulsatilla constitution. The pains are wandering; better with slow movement. Patient is thirstless and worse with heat.
Rhododendron: The patient is worse with a change of weather or an impending storm.
Rhus toxicodendron: The most common single remedy used. The symptoms toms are always better with heat and movement; worse after rest, such as in the mornings. The pain may be in any part of the body - either in large or small joints. Always worse in cold and damp conditions.
Ruta graveolens: Useful in rheumatism of the knees, low back area and large joints. Warm, damp weather brings relief.
