Retention Of Urine Homeopathy Remedy
Definition:
The inability to pass urine and empty the bladder.
Causes:
Senility, post-operative, spinal cord (neurological defi-
cit).
Symptoms:
Pain with abdominal distention.
Treatment:
Apis mellifica; Camphora officinalis; Causticum; Nux vomica; Opium; Stramonium.
Apis mellifica: Burning and soreness when urinating. Urine sup- pressed, scanty, highly coloured and passes out few burning drops; patient has no thirst.
Camphora officinarum: Valuable, if retention is due to spasm.
Causticum: Useful in paralysis of bladder and retention of urine after surgery; usually with problems of delayed commencing of urination or in terminating the last few drops.
Nux vomica: Associated with burning, tearing pains, irritability, ineffective attempts to urinate and an acute feeling of a full bladder. Often follows abuse of food or alcohol.
Opium: The bladder is full and paralysed but there is no pain, awareness or desire to urinate.
Stramonium: Violent, excitable patient who passes little urine because little or none reaches the bladder. Pre-uremia.
