Definition:
Weakness of the upper lids with paralysis of the facial muscles.
Causes:
Fatigue, myasthenia gravis, oedema of the orbital area; stroke (cerebral thrombosis), Bell's palsy, trauma, congenital.
Symptoms:
Drooping of the lids may obscure vision. There is a loss of muscular power.
Treatment:
Gekemium sempervirens; Plumbum metallicum.
Gelsemium sempervirens: Useful with weakness, often associated with double vision. Giddiness and pain in the eyeballs.
Plumbum metallicum: Complementary to Gelsemium sempervirens.
