Pharyngitis Homeopathy Remedy
Definition:
inflammation of the pharynx accompanied with soreness and swelling of the throat.
Causes:
Infection, anemia, trauma, measles and allergy.
Symptoms:
Pain, redness, difficulty in swallowing; often associated with fever.
Treatment:
Aconitum napellus; Baryta carbonica; Belladonna atropa; Dulcamara; Hepar sulphuris calcareum; Lachesis; Mercurius solubilis; Mercurius vivus.
Aconitum napellus: Dryness and roughness in the throat with a burning sensation and hoarseness after exposure to cold wind. Acute high fever with throat congestion.
Baryta carbonica: Tonsillar infection and sore throat develop slowly; glands swollen, pain on swallowing.
Belladonna atropa: Headache; tongue bright red, strawberry appearance; pupils dilated, delirium; throat burns like fire, feels raw; pain on swallowing. Thirstless as fluids cause spasm.
Dulcamara: Raw soreness and burning pains; thick, sticky saliva. Aggravation with any change of atmosphere or with cold and damp.
Hepar sulphuris calcareum: Very irritable, sense of a fish-bone stuck in the throat, worse with cold or a draft.
Lachesis: Disorder starts on the ieft side; bluish colour of the throat; can swallow solids better than fluids (and feels better with solid food), but cannot tolerate any pressure in the neck area. Worse during and after sleep.
Mercurius solubilis: Foul smelling tongue and mouth, thirst and salivation, greenish-yellow coating on the tongue, throat feels dry. Worse at night.
Mercurius vivus: Hot. dry throat, speech is difficult and the whole pharynx is inflamed, infected and swollen. Swallowing is extremely painful, and the temperature is elevated. Very offensive breath. Halitosis.
