Optic Nerve Artophy Homeopathy Remedy

Definition:
An inflammation or degeneration of the retina together with impairment of the optic nerve functions.

Causes:
Many causes. Kidney disorders, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, eclampsia, blood disorders, tobacco, trauma and syphilis. Genetic disorders cause retinitis pigmentosa.

Symptoms:
Partial or complete loss of vision, pain and restlessness in acute cases.

Treatment:
Arsenicum album; lodiitm; Oleum jecoris asellt; Tabacum.

Arsenicum album: Burning and acrid lachrymation. Red, scabby and ulcerated lids. Oedema around the eyes, extremely painful. Intense photophobia. Better with external warmth.

lodium: Violent lachrymation. Pain in the eyes. Dilated pupils. Constant motion of the eyeballs.

Oleum jecoris asellt: Emaciated, but restless and feverish at night, hot hands.

Tabacum: When excessive smoking is the cause.
