Meningitis Homeopathy Remedy
Definition:
Inflammation of the meninges (the membranes covering the brain and the spinal cord).
Causes:
Usually due to a bacterial or viral infection.
Symptoms:
Severe headache spreading to the neck; pain in the back and limbs; convulsions in children; photophobia, fever, nausea, vomiting, irritability and later patient may become comatose.
Treatment:
Apis mellifica; Arnica montana; Bryonia alba; Cicuta virosa; Cuprum metallicum; Helleborus niger.
Apis mellifica: Dull, heavy sensation in the occiput, extending to the neck, as from a blow; better with pressure.
Arnica montana: Hemicrania, with icy feeling of the scalp; severe muscular weakness ; pain and burning in the back of the head; spasms and weakness of extremities.
Bryonia alba: Bursting, splitting headache, which becomes located in the occiput, worse on motion; painful stiffness in the nape of the neck.
Cicuta virosa: Indicated for its action on the nervous system, when there are convulsions, in particular on bending of the head, neck and spine backwards, which makes it a specific remedy for cerebrospinal meningitis
Cuprum metallicum: Indicated in brain affections, when there are spasms beginning in the fingers and toes and intermittent pain in the eyes when rotating them.
Helleborus niger: Invaluable remedy during the advanced stage of major brain disorders. There is muscular weakness, which may go on to complete paralysis. Stupefying headaches. Hydrocephalus.
