Ischemic Heart Disease Homeopathy Remedy
Definition:
An insufficiency of blood supply to the heart muscles through the coronary vessels resulting in an infarct (an area of necrosis due to local ischemia).
Causes:
Hypertension, atheroma, arteriosclerosis, stress and anemia.
Symptoms:
Pain, collapse, shock and cardiac failure.
Treatment:
Aconitum napellus; Arsenicum album; Cactus grandiflorus; Digitalis purpurea; Lachesis; Nux vomica; Spigelia anthelmia.
Aconitum napellus: For an acute attack with fear, anxiety and severe pain. Worse with activity.
Arsenicum album: For the thin, tense, perfectionistic, obessional, industrious, fasitidious and orderly worker. Chilly, always over-anxious, fearful of the present and uncertain of the future. Generally unable to share or express patient's underlying fears or emotions. Fastidious about neatness.
Cactus grandiflorus: For angina pectoris. The chest feels tight and constricted, as if a heavy weight is pressing down and squeezing the chest wall. Worse after exercise.
Digitalis purpurea: An effective remedy for collapse and a slow, weak pulse. Worse with motion and emotions.
Lachesis: Useful in senile heart disease, when the ankles are swollen and the heart feels constricted by the chest wall.
Nux vomica: For the high-pressured, over-worked and ambitious executive. Outwardly calm and suave; inwardly seething. Typically irritable with short-lived outbursts of rage, at home or to his (or her) minions. Often alcoholic and overfed.
Spigelia anthelmia: Useful for palpitations. Usually the patient is worse with motion. Pain in the chest radiating to the back of the trunk.
