Influenza Homeopathy Remedy
Definition:
An acute viral infection.
Causes:
Usually an epidemic of influenza.
Symptoms:
Prostration, fever, catarrhal symptoms and muscular pains.
Treatment:
Aconitum napellus; Arsenicum album; Bryonia alba; Eupa-torium perfoliatum; Gelsemium sempervirens; Influenzinum; Nux vomica; Rhus toxicodendron; Sabadilla.
Aconitum napellus: In early stages of the disorder; fever, rigors and chills; particularly in children.
Arsenicum album: One of the best remedies when there is exhaustion, weakness, prostration, chilliness, restlessness and anxiety. Burning pains are characteristic. Profuse, acrid, burning nasal discharge with sneezing, thirst and conjunctivitis. Diarrhea is commonly associated.
Bryonia alba: Dry cough and fever, generalized body pain, particularly in the chest wall. Dry lips and tongue with thirst for large quantities of water. The patient has a prostrated feeling and lies motionless, aggravated by the least jarring or movement.
Eupatorium perfoliatum: Bone pains are characteristic of this remedy. Soreness and aching of the entire body. Cough and soreness of the larynx.
Gelsemium sempervirens: For early cases with temperature, fatigue, weakness and general aching and soreness in the whole body, particularly the back. The patient is chilly, has a cough, the face is flushed, the eyes water; sneezing is frequent. Weakness of the limbs and eyelids.
Influenzinum: Indicated in severe cases, refractory to other remedies. This nosode also serves as a preventive.
Nux vomica: One of the best early remedies for acute influenza. General body aches and pains, particularly in the low back region. Feeling of severe coldness, not alleviated by covering. Chills from the slightest draft of air.
Rhus toxicodendron: Useful in cases brought on by exposure to dampness. Severe aching in all the bones, worse with coughing and sneezing. Cough worse in the evenings. Stiff, lame and bruised in early mornings, worse at night and restless throughout.
Sabadilla: Sneezing and lachrymation when in the open air. Chilliness, frontal headache and a cough, which is worse on lying down.
