Hiccough Homeopathy Remedy
Definition:
Brief, spasmodic contractions of the diaphragm.
Causes:
Indigestion, anesthesia, uremia, and toxemias.
Symptoms:
Typical spasms and hiccup noises, usually lasting a few minutes.
Treatment:
Cyclamen europaeum; Ginseng tincture; Ignatia amara; Magnesium phosphoricum; Mercurius solubilis; Nux vomica.
Cyclamen europaeum: Associated with breathing distress, better after drinking water (cold water aggravates).
Ginseng tincture: Useful in all forms of hiccough. Low vital energy.
Ignatia amara: When the hiccough is loud and noisy.
Magnesium phosphoricum: Hiccough with retching day and night.
Mercurius corrosivus: Hiccough is worse after drinking water.
Nux vomica: Hiccough occurs before meals.
