Gastritis Homeopathy Remedy

Definition:
Inflammation of the stomach with nausea, or the ac- tual regurgitation of the contents of the stomach and, sometimes, also of those of the small intestine (duodenum) with bile.

Causes:
Irritation of the stomach, psychological distress or due to unsuitable foods, beverages or pregnancy. May be deliberately induced as in anorexia nervosa. Excessive medications.

Symptoms:
Dizziness, retching, weakness and collapse with regurgitation of either undigested or partially digested food. Profuse salivation and sweating is characteristic.

Treatment:
Antimonium crudum; Apomorphinum; Arsenicum album; Ipecacuanha; Nux vomica; Phosphorus; Pulsatilla nigricans.

Antimonium crudum: The tongue is coated white. There is severe nausea and loss of appetite. Useful in children when the stomach is loaded with excessively, rich foods, especially in hot summer weather.

Apomorphinum: Sudden vomiting without warning. Useful for alcoholism.

Arsenicum album: A sensation of heat and burning, with an acid-tasting vomitus after meals, nausea and a general feeling of chilliness and exhaustion. Due to tinned and badly preserved foods. Nux vomica: When caused by medications and toxic substances (alcohol).

Ipecacuanha: Severe nausea leading to vomiting after meals. The tongue is usually clean and the perspiration is profuse. The vomitus is green or mucus laden.

Phosphorus: Vomiting associated with peptic ulceration, often with bright fresh blood. Usually there is a desire for very cold drinks, which are vomited as soon as warmed in the stomach. The burning pain is characteristic.

Pulsatilla nigricans: Eructations; taste of food remains a long time after meals; after ice-cream, fruits, pastry or oily food. Vomiting of food eaten long before
