Eye Strain Homeopathy Remedy
Definition:
Fatigue of visual functions.
Causes:
Ageing of ocular muscles and lens, from working too long under poor lighting conditions or In a glare, such as stage lights.
Symptoms:
Headache, impaired visual activity, tiredness, failure to focus accurately
Treatment:
Calcarea carbonica; Euphrasia officinalis; Gelsemium sem-pervirens; Ledum palustre; Natrium muriaticum; Ruta graveolens.
Calcarea Very useful when the eyes ache and the rest of the carbonica: body feels cold and weak. There is irritation and a profuse continuous lachrymation; better with warm eye-baths or hot compresses.
Euphrasia officinalis: Blurred vision, worse when reading and writing. Pain in the eyes and impaired vision.
Gelsemium sempervirens: With eyestrain and double vision (diplopia), impaired vision and heavy drooping eyelids. Squinting (strabismus) associated with fatigue is common.
Ledum palustre: For eye aches and fatigue. Often with associated inflammation due to a chronic infection.
Natrium muriaticum: When the eyes are weak, stiff and lachrymate easily. Often the patient ingests an excess of s?lt and is highly emotional.
Ruta graveolens: When the eyestrain is due to overwork or due to an injury. The eyes are hot, tired and painful; the vision is blurred. Rheumatic pains in the joints are common.
