Dyspepsia Idigestion Homeopathy Remedy
Definition:
Inability to digest meals witrTout pstin or discomfort.
Causes:
Dietary, a peptic ulcer or infection. Medications.
Symptoms:
Pain, flatulence, nausea, discomfort, lack of appetite.
Treatment:
Arsenicum album; Bryonia alba; Calcarea carbonica; Carbo vegetabilis; Lycopodium davatum; Natrium muriaticum; Nux vomica; Pulsatilla nigricans; Sulphur.
Arsenicum album: Weak, exhausted, fussy and fastidious; lacks appetite, is chilly and unable to digest anything. Diarrhea is often associated. Traveller's diarrhea.
Bryonia alba: A weight-like sensation, accompanied by pain immediately after eating; nausea, a bitter taste and frontal headaches. Pains radiate to the shoulders and back.
Calcarea carbonica: A continual sour taste in the mouth. The appetite is variable and sluggish. Digestion is poor, noisy, slow and painful. Food is rarely enjoyed or desired.
Carbo vegetabilis: Nausea with a sour acid taste, wind and flatulence; pain in the epigastrium. Worse after food.
Lycopodium davatum: Craving for sweets, especially chocolates. Flatulence is marked and there are noisy rumblings and nausea; intolerance of any delay at meal times. An empty, all gone sensation in the stomach.
Natrium muriaticum: Nervous strain and tension, heartburn and pain in the upper abdomen. Constipation. Consumes excessive salt.
Nux vomica: "Heaviness" after meals, heartburn, flatulence and a bitter taste. Worse in the mornings or after midnight. Nausea and vomiting are common. Irritability and constipation. Useful after excessive eating and alcohol intake.
Pulsatilla nigricans: Food feels stuck under the sternum. The tongue is coated white, thirst is absent; symptoms are periodic and variable. Patient craves rich (starchy) foods, which aggravate the disorder and cannot tolerate fats. About two hours after eating, feels full and blown out. Usually worse in the evenings. Rumbling in abdomen.
Sulphur: Chronic dyspepsia with sour, offensive eructations; constipation and flatulence. Useful when associated with excessive consumption of alcohol.
