Concussion, Head Injuries, Post-Traumatic Syndrome Homeopathy Remedy

Definition:
Shock caused to the brain tissue due to trauma.

Causes:
Trauma.

Symptoms:
Loss of consciousness, shock, confusion, pallor, cold extremities.

Treatment:
Aconitum napellus; Arnica montana (lotion); Belladonna atropa; Hypericum perforatum; Natrium sulphuricum; Opium; Ruta graveolens (tincture locally); Phosphorus; Symphytum officinale; Veratrum album.

Aconitum napellus: A useful remedy following Arnica montana, if there is a flushed red face, a bounding pulse, with anxiety, restlessness and an elevated temperature.

Arnica montana (lotion): This is always the first treatment to administer and the most basic and important first-aid locally. Oral doses of the remedy in low potencies may be repeated at short intervals.

Belladonna atropa: Headache, flushed face, bounding pulse, irritable and restless.

Hypericum perforatum: The head feels heavy, painful and is extremely sensitive to the least touch or movement. Confusion is pronounced.

Natrium sulphuricum: Pain is severe and tearing. Dizziness and vomiting are often a prominent feature. For delayed effects of concussion.

Opium: Heavy breathing, obstinate constipation after concussion. Rattling in the throat. Drowsiness. Pinpoint pupils.

Phosphorus: If there is much bleeding externally due to the trauma. Helps to arrest internal hemorrhage as well, particularly if used as homoeo-puncture.

Symphytum officinale: If there is a damage to the skull.

Ruta graveolens (tincture): Tincture is applied locally, if there is a periosteal damage.

Veratrum album: Collapse, coldness, sweating, particularly on the forehead. Shock. Face cold, pale, sweating, weak thready pulse.
