Angina Pectoris Homeopathy Remedy

Definition:
Pain and constriction in the region of the precordium.

Causes:
Insufficient blood supply to the cardiac muscle. Relieved by rest, worse with exercise (see myocardial infarction).

Symptoms:
The chest feels tight and constricted. Restrosternal pain as if a heavy weight is pressing on the chest wall. Pain is aggravated with exercise.

Treatment:
Arsenicum album; Bryonia alba; Cactus grandiflorus; Hae-matoxylon; Latrodectus mactans; Naja tripudians; Oxalicum acidum; Spigelia anthelmia.

Arsenicum album: Pain, dyspnea, faintness, dilation of pupils and cyanosis. Angina pectoris with pain radiating to the neck and occiput. Pulse usually more rapid in the mornings.

Bryonia alba: Stitching, tearing pains that are worse with motion, better with rest. Dry mucous membranes. Oedema and ascites.

Cactus grandiflorus: Constriction in the oesophagus, bladder or chest. The whole body feels as if caged by an iron band. Bleeding and clotting time reduced. Pulse is weak. Toxic goitre with cardiac symptoms may occur.

Latrodectus mactans: Acute constriction of the chest muscles with radiation to the shoulders. Bleeding and clotting time reduced. Cold skin.

Haematoxylon: Characteristic constriction as if a bar is lying across the chest. Constrictive pain in the precordial region extending to the epigastrium. Great soreness. Palpitations.

Naja tripudians: Pains extending to the nape of the neck, left shoulder and arms, accompanied by inordinate fear of death. Pain in the forehead and temples. Irregular pulse. Damaged cardiac muscle after infectious disease. Symptoms of hypotension.

Oxalicum acidum: Motor paralysis with violent pains in spots. Spasmodic symptoms. Palpitations and neurasthenia.

Spigelia anthelmia: Helpful with severe palpitation.
