Clinical Picture:
This is called the "Arnica of the nerves" because Hypericum heals injured areas, which have a rich nerve supply such as hands and feet (particularly the finger tips and toes). It also helps in coccyx injuries, even many years after the trauma.
Helpful in injuries involving nerves or very sensitive areas.
Punctured, incised and lacerated wounds; puncture wounds from nails, bites (rat bites) and splinters (Ledum is the first choice in puncture wounds).
Crushed fingers, nails, or toes.
Pain shoots proximally from the injured site especially up the limbs, in spinal injury, up and down the spine.
Severe concussions of the spine and the brain. Injury to the coccyx.
Following bee stings, if severe pain radiates proximally.
Relieves pain after surgery or crush injury. Prevents tetanus.
Promotes healing of jagged cuts.
Head injuries.
Dental surgery, including root canal pain or post-extraction pain. Dry socket pain.
Painful eye injuries.
In painful burns (external application of the lotion is combined with the internal therapy), allays the pain.

Modalities:
Worse:

Dampness.
Fog.
Touch.
Cold.
Better:
Bending the head backwards.

Relations:
Similar to Arnica montana and Calendula officinalis.
