HYOSCYAMUS NIGER

Henbane

Clinical Picture:
Sanguine temperament; irritable, nervous, hysterical.
Convulsions of children, from fright or toxicity of intestinal worms (Cina); during labour; during the puerperal state; after meals; child vomits, shrieks suddenly and is then unconscious.
Non-inflammatory diseases following increased cerebral activity; hysteria or delirium tremens; delirium, with restlessness, jumps out of bed, tries to escape; makes irrelevant answers; thinks is in the wrong place; talks of imaginary wrongs and has no wants or complaints.
In delirium, Hyoscyamus occupies a place midway between Belladonna atropa and Stramonium; lacks the constant cerebral confusion of the former and'the fierce rage and delirium of the latter.
Spasms without consciousness, very restless; every muscle in die body twitches, from the eyes to the toes (with consciousness: Nux vomica). Fears being alone; poisoned; being bitten; being old; to eat or drink; to take what is offered; suspicous of some plot.
Bad effects of unrequited love; with jealously, rage, incoherent speech or inclination to laugh at everything; often followed by epilepsy.
Lascivious mania; immodesty, will not be covered, kicks off clothes, exposes self; sings obscene songs; lies naked in bed and chatters.
Cough: Dry, nocturnal, spasmodic; worse when lying down, better when sitting up (Drosera rotundifolia); at night, after eating, drinking, talking, singing (Drosera rotundifolia, Phosphorus. Better when lying down Manganum muriaticum).
Insomnia of irritable, excitable people with business embarrassments, often imaginary.
Paralysis of bladder, after labour, with retention or incontinence of urine; no desire to urinate in pregnant women (Arnica montana, Opium).
