Clinical Picture:Bowels moved by spasmodic jerks, stools "coming out like a shot (Gambogia), as soon as patient eats, drinks, or even while eating; yellow watery stool. Constant urging to stool followed by sudden evacuation, which is shot out of the rectum (Gambogia, Gratiola officinalis, Podophyllum peltatum, Thuja occidentalis). Sensation in the intestines as from water before stool (rumbling before stool Aloe socotrina).
Drawing pains radiating in the chest, from breast to scapula of same side every time the child nurses; nipples very sore.
Modalities:
Worse:
Diarrhea.
Every motion.
After drinking.
While eating or nursing (Argentum nitricum, Arsenicum album).
During summer; from fruit and sweetmeats (Gambogia).
The least food or drink.
Touch.
Relations:
Similar to Kalium bromatum, Phosphorus in chronic infantile diarrhea. Silicea pain also radiates from nipple through to back when nursing.
Summary of Indications:
In sudden evacuation of bowels - pain in the chest (in nursing mothers).
