CAULOPHYLLUM THALICTROIDES

Blue cohosh

Clinical Picture:
Especially suited to women; particularly for disorders during pregnancy, parturition and lactation. For a spasmodic rigid os, delayed labour, needlelike pricking pains in the cervix region.
Rheumatism of women, especially of the small joints (Actaea spicata); erratic pains, changing place every few minutes (Pulsatilla nigricans); painful stiffness of the affected joints. Pains are intermittent, paroxysmal and spasmodic.

Relations:
Inimical to Coffea cruda.

Summary of Indications:
Used to ensure smooth, painless childbirth, rheumatoid arthritis (of women).

Antidotes:
Nux vomica.

Note:
In rheumatism of "small joints" of the body the following remedies may be helpful: Actaea spicata, Cimicifuga racemosa, Gelsemium sempervirens, Pulsatilla nigricans, Rhus toxicodendron, Sepia, Symphytum officinale.
