Cayenne pepper

Clinical Picture:
Phlegmatic diathesis; lack of reactive vital force, especially in obese people. Easily exhausted ; indolent, dreads any kind of exercise; inclined to be jovial, yet angry at trifles.
Children: Dread of open air; always chilly; refractory, clumsy, fat, dirty and disinclined to work or even think (mental work). Desires to be alone; wants to lie down and sleep most of the time.
Burning and smarting sensation, as from cayenne pepper in the throat and other parts, not increased by heat.
Tonsillitis with burning, smarting pain, intense soreness; constriction of the throat with burning; inflamed, dark red, swollen.
Burning spasmodic constriction, worse between deglutition (Ignatia amara).
Painful swelling behind the ears in the mastoid region, extremely sore and sensitive to touch.

Modalities:
Worse:

Open air.
Uncovering.
Draughts.
Better:
While eating.
From heat.

Relations:
Similar to Apis mellifica, Belladonna atropa, Bryonia alba, Caladium seguinum and Pulsatilla nigricans in some disorders.

Summary of Indications:
Obesity - tonsillitis - mastoiditis.
