Clinical Picture:
A gouty or rheumatic diathesis. Pain is tearing and stitching in one or more joints; redness and swelling of joints.
Urine is highly coloured with a very offensive smell, associated with gouty symptoms.

Modalities:
Worse:

At night.
In the open air.
By uncovering.
With wine.
Better:
In a closed room.
When covered.

Relations:
Useful if Colchicum autumnale fails to relieve gout.
Incompatible with wine, which aggravates urinary, gouty and rheumatic affections.

Summary of Indications:
Polyarthritis - gout.

Antidotes:
Nux vomica
