Clinical Picture:This remedy helps at the commencement of a cold. The patient looks as if he or she has been peeiing onions. There is frequent sneezing and the eyes are tearing; a watery discharge irritates the nose. The person may also have laryngitis, with a raw, painful sensation extending into the chest.
Coryza in damp, cold weather, onset with sneezing. Streaming eyes and nose. Nasal discharge acrid, making the upper lip and nose sore. Discharge from the eyes is bland. The nose Is "stuffed". Only one nostril is usually dripping. Hoarseness and laryngitis may occur.
Cough when exposed to the cold air. Grasps the throat when coughing; patient feels as if the cough would split or tear the chest.
Headache, mostly in the forehead region.
Neuralgic pains.
Indicated in infants with colicky pains in the abdomen.
Symptoms usually commence on the left side and extend towardi, the right.

Open air. Cold room.
Relations:
Complementary to Phosphorus, Pulsatilla nigricans and Thuja occidentalis.
Summary of Indications:
Frontal headaches - common cold - pharyngitis - laryngitis - infantile colic (infantile gastroenteritis).
Antidotes:
Arnica montana
Nux vomica
Thuja occidentalis (also complementary)
Veratrum album.
Note:
Allium sativum (garlic) is used mainly for gastrointestinal disorders.
